The renovation of Mālie Organics marks a pivotal evolution for the Hawaiian beauty brand, led by founder Dana Roberts. Envisioned as a flagship moment within the International Market Place, The Vanguard Theory developed a design that translates the brand’s essence—rooted in island botanicals, ritual, and sensory experience—into a refined, immersive retail environment. Natural materials, soft tonal palettes, and layered textures evoke a sense of calm and authenticity, while elevated detailing introduces a more modern and cohesive expression of the brand.
This location was intentionally designed to establish a new visual and experiential direction for Mālie, serving as the prototype for future renovations across its stores throughout Hawai‘i. Every element, from spatial planning to fixture design, was thoughtfully considered to create a scalable and adaptable framework—ensuring consistency while allowing each location to maintain a connection to its unique sense of place.
